German brand Sinn Spezialuhren has always stayed true to its roots. Since the early 1960s, it has been making a name for itself with pilot watches and cockpit clocks. For example, it designed the Nabo 17 ZM, a cockpit clock with a central minute counter that was originally designed for the German Luftwaffe's Tornado programme in the late 1970s and is still used today by the military in this type of fighter aircraft.
PILOT CLOCK
In addition, this clock served in the F-104 Starfighter, the Breguet Atlantic -a long-range maritime patrol aircraft- and in military helicopters such as the Bölkow Bo 105. A special feature of the Nabo 17 ZM clock was the start and reset buttons on the bottom of the case, as well as the easy-to-read orange hands of the of the central chronograph for seconds and minutes. The design of this Nabo 17 ZM was the inspiration for this watch, model 717. Equipped with a central stopwatch display for seconds and minutes in the form of large orange hands, and powered by the reliable SINN chronograph movement SZ01. The case
is equipped with an internal pilot ring, which can be operated smoothly from the outer edge of the watch. Like its inspiration, the dial stands out for its excellent legibility -even under adverse lighting conditions- thanks to the sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
