A TRIDENT WITHOUT CONCESSIONS
Maserati's SUV -after the Ghibli- also gets electric support. Unfortunately, not in combination with the 3.0-litre V6 or the 3.8-litre V8 we know, but with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder we also find in the hybrid Ghibli.
But even then, the new Levante Hybrid is good for a pleasant 330 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Only about 20 hp less than the V6. From 0-100 goes in six seconds with a maximum speed of 240 km/h. Like the Ghibli, the Levante Hybrid is not a 'plug-in hybrid'. In the boot is a small battery that gets its power from the generator on the fuel engine. The battery gives the engine an extra 'push' during acceleration or helps the turbocharger at low revs. It gains its energy during engine braking or actual brake use. In the wild, you will recognise the Levante Hybrid by blue accents at the air vents, brake calipers, trident and seat cover stitching. The price is not yet known, but looking at Dutch regulations, it will be below the current Dutch starting price of €144,163 anyway.
