From east to west and north to south, everywhere they do their bit on projects that benefit the health of nature, animals, people or a combination thereof. Like here too. Because imagine looking on a map of Africa to find a place where you can make a difference. That was the question Swiss entrepreneur Christian Gross and German-born Dr Misha S. Kruck answered for themselves in 2011 when they founded the flying rescue organisation Okavango Air Rescue (O.A.R.) in Botswana to serve a sparsely populated country with many remote communities.<\/p>

The couple had experience that complemented each other. Christian was both a conservationist and businessman and had already founded environmental organisations. Misha had extensive medical experience and had worked all over the world, including with the International Red Cross and Rega, the Swiss air rescue service. So they moved to Botswana in2011 and founded O.A.R., a private and independently funded service that uses helicopters and aircraft, as well as an outpatient clinic, to bring high-quality medical care to locals and tourists visiting the country.<\/p>
