He was almost forgotten. But now it is back. The 1994 ceramic Fliegerchronograph (ref. 3705) gets a new life under the name Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition Tribute to 3705<\/a>. Over its 152-year history, IWC has created a number of instant icons, such as the Big Pilot and the Portugieser Chronograph. But the brand has also released watches that first fell into oblivion before becoming popular after all.<\/strong><\/p>

CERATANIUM<\/h3>

One such model is this Fliegerchronograph Keramik, IWC's first pilot watch with a case made of black zirconium oxide ceramic. Despite the use of this innovative material and purist design, it achieved little success and production was discontinued a few years later, at around a thousand pieces. Thanks to this scarcity, the watch eventually became popular among collectors. Time for a bit of revaluation therefore, in the form of this reissue. Not in ceramic, but with a case made of Ceratanium<\/a><\/strong>. Once again, a pioneering new material developed by IWC. Internally the in-house calibre 69380 and hung on a black calfskin strap.
