The very first IWC Big Pilot's Watch with a chronograph function is a reality and is called Big Pilot's Watch Monopusher Edition \"Le Petit Prince\". The name says it all: this watch's mechanical stopwatch is operated via a single push-button. It is beautifully integrated into the characteristic conical crown. This edition of \"Le Petit Prince\" has a limited edition <\/em>of 500 pieces, costs \u20ac17,200 and has the signature deep blue sunburst dial and a 46.2 mm stainless steel case.<\/strong><\/p>

\"IWC is never deterred by challenges and always tries to find technically elegant solutions. We had long had the idea of creating a Big Pilot's Watch with chronograph function. However, the unmistakable design with the large case and tapered crown with two chronograph pushers on the side of the case is hard to imagine. Therefore, we came up with the surprising and at the same time logical idea of incorporating a monopusher chronograph,\"<\/em> Christian Knoop, Creative Director of IWC Schaffhausen, explains.<\/p>

\"\"User-friendly<\/h2>

The monopusher chronograph is operated via a single pushbutton integrated into the crown, making it user-friendly and practical. Pressing the button once starts a new timing. Pressing the button a second time stops the timing. Stop times up to one hour are displayed on the totalisator at 12 o'clock. Pressing the button a third time resets the chronograph to zero. Following in the footsteps of other IWC special editions in honour of Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry's world-famous novel, the Big Pilot's Watch Monopusher Edition \"Le Petit Prince\" features a distinctive deep blue sunburst dial. This is complemented by a stainless steel case and rhodium-plated hands. Moreover, the hands, indexes and applied numerals are covered with luminous material to make the dial easier to read at night.\u00a0<\/p>

\"\"In-house calibre<\/h2>

The IWC-manufactured 59365 calibre is one of IWC's three in-house chronograph timepieces. Alongside timepieces from the 69000 and 89000 calibre families, it underlines IWC's extensive expertise in designing and manufacturing chronographs. In addition, it is also the brand's only chronograph timepiece that is wound manually: 70 revolutions of the crown are needed to build up the maximum power reserve of no less than eight days. A power reserve indicator on the back of the movement, visible through the sapphire-glass case bottom, shows the remaining energy in the spring.
