Watches in films; often they play an important supporting role and are in shop windows of the real world not long after. So what you can buy now is... Dune's watch! Or at least, an earthy version of it....
Hamilton is a well-known player in Hollywood with watches in more than 500 major films since 1932. The latest collaboration was with the filmmakers of Dune: Part Two. Unlike previous collaborations, where Hamilton selected existing watches, the makers of Dune wanted a different approach: to create a watch for a different world that flouts traditional watchmaking rules.
Fremen clockwork
Guided by Frank Herbert's Dune lore and director Villeneuve's vision for the film, Hamilton's designers created a robust, quintessential Fremen timepiece (to understand this, you'll really have to see the film!).
Earth variant
Although this 'Desert Watch' is exclusive to Arrakis (see the film), the creative influence has inspired Hamilton to launch two limited edition watches in February 2024 to coincide with the release of Dune: Part Two. Both Venturas feature a luminous blue dial reminiscent of the Fremen's unmistakable blue eyes. The Ventura Bright has a button that mimics the glowing blue lines of the Desert Watch dial.
Relief
The all-new Ventura Edge has a matte black PVD-coated angular case with a blue digital display that mimics the embossed elements seen on the props in the film.
The limited-edition comes with packaging inspired by the film that fans and collectors will enjoy.
