This special Big Crown-ProPilot version was created in cooperation with Rega, the private, non-profit air rescue service that provides emergency medical assistance in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The question Oris asked itself and Rega posed was actually quite simple: what do you need in a wristwatch for professionals? The answer: a minimalist, very clear dial that can be read in a split second. So: no reflection of light or glare. And two special functions, namely an extra time zone for logging times and a pulsometer as a backup for electronic machines that measure patients' heart rates.
Moreover, the watch had to be robust, accurate and utterly reliable. Oris went to work with the wish list et voilà: the Big Crown ProPilot Rega Fleet L.E was born. With a black dial, contrasting white hands and numerals filled with high-quality Super-LumiNova. Its stainless steel case and Oris patented 'Lift' clasp are coated in anti-reflective gunmetal grey PVD.
It features a clearly marked second time zone. And engraved in the bi-directional rotating bezel a red triangle for the timing of the 'golden hour' (the first hour after an injury in which recovery is most likely) and a pulsometer scale.
In short, the perfect watch for Rega, limited edition now available to ordinary citizens.
