The collaboration between Frederique Constant and the RHS (Riva Historical Society), resulted already in 2009 in a special collection of watches, available in limited editions.
Anno 2021 features a new Runabout model (named after a type of boat also built by Riva). This time equipped with a blue dial and available in an edition of 888.
Sea blue
Its beautiful blue is reminiscent of the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the blue of the sky and space. In short, the Frederique Constant Runabout Chronograph Automatic invites you to travel. The polished watch case measures 42 mm and is equipped with two push buttons for starting, stopping and resetting the chronograph. The watch features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 50 metres. The dial is embellished with a guilloche pattern that plays with the reflections of light, as if the sun were reflecting on the waves.
Signature
That guilloche centre, by the way, is characteristic of the Runabout collection. It is surrounded by a satinised hour circle with luminescent Arabic numerals and large luminescent hands for easy legibility. A date window at 6 o'clock and the ornate House signature at 3 o'clock complete the picture. Internally, an automatic movement (calibre FC-392 can be admired through the transparent case bottom) ticks with a generous power reserve of 55 hours. The watch comes on a navy blue calf leather strap with off-white stitching. Each watch comes in a box with a miniature replica of the mythical wooden Runabout stylishly 'docked' next to it.
Costs €2695. There is also a version with gold-plated case for €2895.
