The game you never get bored of and in which you can always keep developing yourself
Four Leaves launches a unique handmade chess set. For this new addition to the range, Four Leaves travelled the sustainable brand Four Leaves descended to the Esala Perahera, Asia's largest traditional parade, and took to the once traditionally produced there chess game back in production.
A Sri Lankan showpiece, this particular game is an aesthetic and artisanal masterpiece, entirely handmade from sustainable rubber and ginikuru wood. Of course, with an exciting edge, as we have come to expect from Four Leaves. Indeed, the side of the board and the inlay feature a 'Kung-fu quote', also used by the Wu-Tang Clan: A game of chess is like a sword fight, you must think first before you move...
One school year per game
The game is full of references to the centuries-old parade that takes place every summer in Kandy, the former capital of Sri Lanka. Yet this traditional object has not been made there for years, due to the high degree of craftsmanship required for its production. Four Leaves therefore started looking for people who could and wanted to still make it. And now there it is, available in a limited edition.
And the best part is: Four Leaves donates a year of school to an orphan in Sri Lanka for every purchase.
Product info: price €330.00, size 50 x 50 cm, material rubber wood and ginikuru wood.
