VAN DER GANG KITE
The new Kite Limitée from Van der Gang Watches is an eye-catcher. The 73-gram solid rose gold case was manufactured in-house using a wire-eroding technique. A time-consuming process in which the case is cut under high voltage, but which offers a lot of freedom of shape. The movement is basically an ETA 7751, but was enriched with its own complications, such as a second time zone with AM/PM indication, date and chronograph functions. Also striking is the green synthetic sapphire glass, which provides the dial with a distinctive glow.At 2.6 mm, the glass is also so thick that it rises above the watch's bezel, adding a quirky aspect to the already striking design. The Kite Limitée is part of a new line within Van der Gang: every year, existing models are re-released, but in special combinations of material and design. This Kite with reference 20045GA-G is limited to an edition of 25 pieces and costs €27,800. www.vandergangwatches.nl
